BFA: Last week was your first homecoming experience as a Byrnes Rebel. Share your thoughts about the dress up days, school spirit, football game, and how you feel about this event in general. Are you looking forward to next year and being at the high school for homecoming?
I do not normally show school spirit, i find no point in it. I always find myself wondering how an entire city could revolve around a high school football game, can't we find better things to do?
ReplyDeleteGood point. Like what? Isn't it though a way a community can come together? Do you think it's important to have school spirit even if you don't necessarily need to show it?
DeleteGoing to the football game honestly isn't the important thing. Our school is very revolved around football. And even if you don't go to the game you could participate in some school spirit. Unless you don't really have school spirit no matter what school you go to.
DeleteI didn't exactly participate in the frivolous activities of Homecoming Week. I saw absolutely no point in dressing up, and I had no means of transportation to attend the game. I believe, however, that if I had had any way to get there, I still wouldn't have gone. I have no interest in sports, nor am I a very active person, if I have the choice. Since I look on homecoming with indifference, I can't say honestly that I "look forward to" next homecoming.
ReplyDeleteWhy do you think you are indifferent? Just because you don't care for sports? Isn't it a right of passage, so to speak, to have pride for your school?
ReplyDeleteI wore Rebel football stickers on my face. I paid .50 to play dodgeball. Then my family and I went to the game that night to hangout with my friends.
ReplyDeleteAs a football player, does it make you happy to see students supporting you by showing their school spirit and getting into the homecoming festivities?
DeleteDoes it make you upset to see other students who seem apathetic about homecoming?
Homecoming week for me was an interesting week as of watching everybody dress up, and then deciding to do so also. I know the Byrnes spirit will continue as long as the class of '16 is here.
ReplyDeleteYea! That's what it is all about. Healthy peer pressure and school spirit. Go Rebels! :)
DeleteHomecoming week for me was an interesting experience. I was surprised at all the people who showed their school spirit, it actually encouraged me to dress up some too. My favorite dress up day was Farmers Day. Because I've always been a little outside girl and I love to farm with my grandma. :) I'm so glad I'm a REBEL!!
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome to be a REBEL! I was really impressed with how into the freshman were - that means the class of '16 is going to be fabulous! :)
DeleteHomecoming was quiet eccentric. It was entertaining to come in everyday and see my fellow peers wearing different outfits everyday.
ReplyDeleteHomecoming didn't really have an effect on me. I don't like football, AT ALL, and it didn't really seem that fun to me. For me it was just a normal week. Nothing more nothing less.
