BHS: Autumn the giraffe

After our discussion about Autumn the giraffe who is expected to give birth any day now at the Greenville Zoo, I would like for you to think about a few things. If you wish, research some information about giraffes - maybe the gestational period (pregnancy length), giraffes giving birth in captivity, or something else associated with giraffes and their calf. Also, why do you think nearly a quarter of a million people are following her on earthcam.com:

Is there something about animals in general that tug at our hearts or is it just nice to have a "good" news story?
Would you be interested in watching the live birth of her calf? Why or why not.

  1. Yes, there is something about animals that tug at our hearts because they are beautiful and innocent creatures. I would be very interesting to watch the live birth of her calf; because she is giving life.

  2. Yes there is something about animals that tug at our hearts. They are like children to us. We care for them, feed them, and even dress them up. They are your life when you're just not quite ready for a child. They're sort of like a guinea pig.
I would be interested in watching the birth of the calf because I want to see how they give birth and I want to see the calf.
